On a day-to-day basis the most direct way to give notes to our animators was to provide drawovers on their animation. These would also usually be accompanied by a written summary of the notes for easier tracking or translation to their native language.Â
**WARNING: The drawings below depict violent and sexual content **
Sometimes the simplest way to give a note to our animation team was to provide live action video reference. Whether it was to help demonstrate complex body mechanics or to get ahead of a sophisticated acting shot that we anticipated would need special attention. Below are a couple examples.
In other scenarios, video reference wasn’t the clearest way to provide feedback or just wasn’t feasible (like kneeing someone in the face). In these examples the notes were more focused on the posing, appeal, and overall timing of the actions. Providing some rough animation was a more specific way achieve the notes we were looking for.
